The following summary compares student performance between 2015 and 2016 on the Grade 3 Florida Standards Assessment (FSA) Reading test:
• Eleven elementary schools showed growth in their performance (excluding charter schools).
• Seven elementary schools showed improvement of five or more percentage points: Deerwood Elementary, Hickory Tree Elementary, Highlands Elementary, Lakeview Elementary, Boggy Creek Elementary, Poinciana Academy of Fine Arts, and Narcoossee Elementary.
• Fourteen elementary schools demonstrated proficiency levels at or above the district average of 50%.
"I value and appreciate the hard work that has been done by our students and teachers," said Superintendent Dr. Debra Pace. "Our administrators, educators, and staff will begin to analyze the test data to see where growth has been made and where assistance and strategies are needed to improve learning gains for each and every student."
