As the Osceola School District continues to look at ways to save money, the district will save on utility costs and operational costs by implementing a four-day work week during the summer months. Beginning on June 13, 2016, and ending on July 28, 2016, the school district's administrative offices and school front offices will be open to the public Mondays through Thursdays during the following hours:
--Mondays - Wednesdays -- 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
--Thursdays -- 7:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. **Parents and students can pick up report cards at schools beginning on Thursday, June 16.
Some district facilities may be open on Fridays for teacher trainings, school-based events, or maintenance work. For the week of July 4, 2016, regular work hours on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. will be followed for all departments and schools. School District offices will be closed on Monday, July 4. The first day of school for students for the 2016-2017 school year will be on Wednesday, August 10, 2016.
Osceola School District's Extended Day Summer Camp will run Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. from June 15 - July 1 at 10 elementary school sites during Summer Session 1: Celebration K-8, Central Avenue, Kissimmee, Mill Creek, Narcoossee, Pleasant Hill, Partin Settlement, Reedy Creek, St. Cloud, and Ventura. A second session will be held from July 5 - July 22 at seven elementary school sites: Kissimmee, Partin Settlement, Pleasant Hill, Reedy Creek, St. Cloud, Ventura, and Narcoossee (7/5-7/15).
Osceola School District's Prekindergarten Program (VPK) will run Monday through Thursday, June 13, through August 2 from 7:15 a.m. until 5:15 p.m., with the exception of the week of July 4th when it will be open Tuesday, July 5, through Friday, July 8. VPK will be offered at the following locations: Ross E. Jeffries Center Annex of Lakeview Elementary, Kissimmee Elementary, and Deerwood Elementary. This free program is open to incoming kindergarten-age students who have not already attended a VPK program. A Summer Adventures in Learning program (SAIL) is also being offered to students who have attended VPK during the school year, and who would like additional summer instruction for a small fee. The hours are the same as the VPK program, and is being offered at the Ross E. Jerffries Center Annex of Lakeview Elementary.
