Celebration Foundation and Community Partners Ensure Osceola Students Can Focus On Learning
Thanks to the Celebration Foundation, in partnership with Osceola County, the City of Kissimmee, and Florida Hospital Celebration Health, a truckload carrying 1,250 cases of snacks for students arrived to the Osceola School District's warehouse this week. The generous shipment, made possible by partner donations totaling $25,000, will ensure that students throughout the district can put aside hunger issues while in school in order to focus on learning. Six teams of employees in the district's Special Programs Department delivered the snacks out to 27 schools.
"We honor the commitment of teachers in the county, and understand they often reach into their own pockets to buy snacks for their students," said Gloria Niec, Executive Director of the Celebration Foundation. "Together, we are helping teachers in classrooms by arming them with needed snacks to help provide some security to children who live in chaos and experience hunger. Together, we make it a little easier to be a kid and not worry about a hungry belly."
