At the November 15, 2016, meeting, Osceola County School Board members Tim Weisheyer and Kelvin Soto were sworn in and took office. In addition, Kelvin Soto was named as Chairman of the Osceola County School Board, and Ricky Booth was named as Vice-Chair, both positions to be effective on November 22, 2016.
"My fellow board members showed confidence in me to be our Chairman, and I am deeply touched," said Kelvin Soto. "I hope to continue to lead the Board in our quest to help the children of those who work every day and fight to make ends meet. We are a true democratic institution and wish to make Lincoln's ideas of equality and freedom the hallmark of all our efforts to treat all students of this jurisdiction as heirs to his legacy."
Osceola County School Board meetings were set for the first and third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the School District Administrative Complex, located at 817 Bill Beck Blvd. in Kissimmee.
