Stacy Burdette, Principal of East Lake Elementary School, has been selected as one of three finalists in the state of Florida to receive the 2016-2017 Innovative Principal of the Year Award, presented by the Florida Council of Instructional Technology Leaders. This recognition is designed to highlight school-based principals within the state who have demonstrated successful program implementations utilizing technology to further student achievement.
"My vision is that students will be provided multiple opportunities to interact with digital tools with peers throughout the learning process as they progress through the standards, and this will become the norm not the exception," said Principal Burdette. "This learning will become the assessment as students will produce projects that show evidence of learning that include use of digital tools."
The state winner will be announced at a luncheon that will occur at the Future of Education Technology Conference on January 25, 2017.
