At the November 17 meeting, the Osceola County School Board named a new Chairman and Vice Chair. Clarence Thacker was appointed as Board Chair, and Ricky Booth was made Vice Chair. School Board meetings were set for the first and third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the School District Administrative Complex, located at 817 Bill Beck Blvd. in Kissimmee.
"I am extremely grateful for the trust the Board has placed in me as Chairman," said School Board Chairman Clarence Thacker. "Over the last two years, Tim Weisheyer has done an excellent job leading the School Board, as he laid a solid foundation for productivity and progress. My goal is to continue to foster the excellent collaboration between our Board members, school district employees, parents, and community residents. As we work together during what promises to be an exciting year ahead, we will celebrate the retirement of one Superintendent and welcome in a new Superintendent."
