Preparing students for high-demand, high-wage jobs in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics

Osceola's newest STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) initiative is the Mobile STEM Lab, a 45-foot motor coach outfitted with seven interactive hands-on student learning stations. The Mobile STEM Lab has arrived from the manufacturer, and it will be rolling out to Title I elementary schools around the county throughout the school year starting next week. Fifth grade students will be engaged in hurricane-themed, standards-based learning, in such areas as medical and biological technology and geological, environmental, electrical, structural, and meteorological engineering.

What: Media outlet representatives are invited to experience the Mobile STEM Lab with students at the first school visit. A brief ribbon cutting ceremony will be done, and reporters will have an opportunity to interact with and interview students in the Mobile Lab.
