Message from Principal Schwartz
Welcome to Poinciana High School, where our strength lies in our diversity. Our dedicated staff takes pride in an “our students” mentality, as we genuinely believe that every student can learn and achieve, with graduation as the starting point. Together, we commit to best instructional practices, from Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) to developing character traits through Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), resulting in responsible, productive students. We accept no excuses in our commitment to preparing and marketing students for as many college and career opportunities as possible.
It is truly my honor to serve the school community of Poinciana High School as we collaborate always in the best interest of our students.We have the #1 graduation rate and the most professional industry certifications earned among all comprehensive high schools in the district. We earned an “A” school grade for the first time in the school’s history in the 2024-2025 school year and outperformed several non-Title I schools.
Parents, you are the most valuable members of our team. Please set the expectation for your student to come home each day and teach or explain what they learned in class. Establish incentives and consequences at home depending on whether your student meets this expectation. If we work together as a team to support student learning, the sky is the limit! Enjoy the summer break of 2026. Keep your brains active over summer by replacing social media time with some reading time. Engage in current event discussions and debates with friends and family. Recharge and be ready for ALL students to make learning gains this upcoming 26-27 school year!

ASCEND With UsThe ASCEND program at Poinciana High School offers an accelerated academic pathway for students who meet specific criteria and are ready to take on increased rigor through the AP Capstone Diploma program. This prestigious opportunity challenges students with college-level coursework in research, seminar, and other AP subjects. Graduates who earn the AP Capstone Diploma automatically qualify for Florida’s Bright Futures Medallion Scholarship, opening the door to significant college funding and academic recognition.
