As a reminder, electronic devices that can record, transmit, or connect digitally are not permitted on campus or during instructional time, including wearable technology such as Meta (smart) glasses. While these glasses may resemble traditional eyewear, they contain digital features (such as cameras and speakers) that are not allowed during class or testing, as they can compromise student privacy and the integrity of instruction and assessments.
Meta or smart glasses are strictly prohibited during all testing, including AP, ACT, SAT, CLT, and all state assessments, even if they contain prescription lenses. Students who arrive to test wearing Meta glasses as their only pair of glasses will not be permitted to test and will need to be rescheduled to test on another day using a non-digital backup pair of prescription glasses.
Please review the attached flyer for examples of devices that are not permitted on campus and during testing.

Great job to Tanisha Holmes, Roydrick Scott, Heather Romulus, Cicily Youngblood, Bobby Cochran, and all of the student leaders from BSA and AVID who worked together to put on an amazing Black History Expo last night!
The evening began with a gallery walk in the cafeteria, where students showcased presentations highlighting important countries, events, and influential leaders in Black history. Guests used the event program to collect stamps as they visited each informational station, which added a fun incentive to fully engage with every display.
The program then moved to the auditorium for performances celebrating Black culture. The pride our students showed in honoring their heritage and history was truly inspiring. Events like this strengthen our school community and help students feel more connected and engaged.

Our Healing Hearts Club hosted a DIY Fidget Creation Day, where students designed and built their own fidget tools to use in class when needed. With multiple options to choose from, students created personalized devices that support focus and self-regulation.
The event also helped raise awareness about the positive use of fidget tools and worked to erase the stigma, reminding everyone that supporting student wellness and learning goes hand in hand.
So proud of our students for leading with empathy, creativity, and heart!

Today, our teachers engaged in targeted learning PD by visiting co-taught math classrooms to observe powerful instructional practices in action. They focused on effective checks for understanding and intentional pivots to small-group instruction, where two teacher-led groups provided timely support and enrichment for students.
Opportunities like this strengthen our collaborative culture and help ensure every student receives responsive, high-quality instruction. We are proud of our teachers for continuing to learn from one another and grow together!

Parents, please take a moment to check whether your child is missing their school-issued laptop charger. If a replacement is needed, QR codes for ordering a new charger are provided below.
It is very important that all students have a school-approved charger. If a student reaches senior year without replacing a missing charger, a financial obligation will be added to their account. Outstanding obligations will prevent students from participating in senior activities, including graduation-related events.
Please help ensure your student stays on track by securing a replacement charger as soon as possible. Thank you for your support!

All American Youth Sports, which is a recreational youth soccer and flag football organization serving the Kissimmee area.
AAYSports is excited to offer structured volunteer opportunities for students interested in earning service hours, developing leadership skills, or exploring interests in education, coaching, sports management, or community service. Volunteers may assist with coaching support, youth mentorship, practice setup, and general program operations in a safe and supervised environment. Volunteer hours would typically run from 8:00 a.m. until approximately 11:30 a.m., following field breakdown. Students may choose to volunteer for a single week or participate on an ongoing weekend basis. While we do have a high school volunteer form available on our website to help us anticipate turnout and communicate with students, completion of the form is not required. For more information students can also email or call us.
All American Youth Sports (AAYSports) is a family-owned recreational and developmental youth sports program serving children ages 4 to 12 with little to no prior experience in organized sports. We offer soccer and flag football programs that practice and play games on Saturday mornings beginning at 9:00 a.m. Our programs operate at two locations in Kissimmee: Archie Gordon Memorial Park (BVL Park) and Oren Brown Community Park. The Archie Gordon location is scheduled to begin January 31st with a six-week season, followed by a four-week break before the next season later in the spring. Our Oren Brown location operates year-round, offering greater scheduling flexibility for student volunteers and will also restart January 31st.

To help keep students in class and avoid unnecessary office visits, we ask that families use the attached MSB Support Guide when access issues come up. This guide includes easy step-by-step instructions and customer service contact information to help resolve most problems quickly.
In many cases, issues with MSB can be fixed by contacting customer service directly—often within minutes. Since staff cannot always assist over the phone or see what parents are viewing, using the guide and reaching out to MSB support is the fastest and most effective option.
Thank you for your support in keeping our students focused and learning!

At Poinciana High School, student safety and a positive learning environment are our top priorities. To support this, we do not allow outside food deliveries (like Uber Eats, DoorDash, or other services) for students during the school day.
We encourage families to plan ahead by sending students with lunch from home or taking advantage of the school cafeteria, which offers a variety of healthy and satisfying options. This helps reduce distractions, keeps our campus safe, and ensures all students can focus on learning and participating fully in school activities.
By working together, we can create a smooth, safe, and welcoming environment for every student. Thank you for your support and for helping make Poinciana High School a great place to learn and grow!

As a reminder, water guns are not allowed on campus or in the school parking lot at any time. Any student found with a water gun on campus or in the parking lot may face serious disciplinary action from the school and law enforcement. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Due to safety laws and liability, students wanting to leave school before the end of the day must be signed out by an adult on their contact list in Focus, even if the student drives and is 18 years old. Only students legally emancipated from their parents in a court of law can sign themselves out in the state of FL.
Enrolling parent or guardian MUST come in person to submit the Student Information & Emergency Contact Update. You can pick up a form in the Front Office.
|
Students can connect with their school counselor during their lunch period. Counselors will be stationed at the auditorium lobby on the cafeteria side each week (Monday through Thursday), so that students can ask questions and get help. Please check out the one-pager below for Counselor Caseloads, which includes their days down at lunch.
